The Articles Field assesses the effectiveness and personalities of two commanders and, in addition, includes an essay on the impact of the Great War on the music of British composers.

Film

As the war dragged on into its second and third year, helping the citizens of Britain, the Commonwealth and the Empire understand why the war had to continue until victory was gained became important. The Film Field thus reviews the kinematographic experiences of Geoffrey Malins as published in Mars & Clio, the official newsletter of the British Commission for Military History. It also offers draft Viewing Guides for his filming of the King's visit to France in August 1916, the filming of the King and Queen's visit in July 1917 and the album of still photographs compiled by Sir Derek Keppel recently found in the collection of albums of her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and now held in the Royal Archives, Windsor Castle.
